Grit, guts and genius…

Age is a number. Everybody has one, (If we’re lucky it keeps going up). Have you noticed, it’s on every form we fill out? Every institution wants to slap it on your forehead, saying this is where you fit. You, on the other hand, can give into it, or ignore it. I choose to ignore the double digits.

I’m experiencing one of the best times in my life. An inner fulfillment. Reinventing myself. Free from the worry about what others may think. Trusting my gut. You can stumble if you don’t follow the rhythm of your own heart.

I have embraced who I am. Unapologetic for my choices. And the freedom from the need to wear high heels. Women of a certain age understand this. There is an inner power that radiates from our knowing. Isn’t it great to have arrived?!

In many ways women speak in terms of love, light and yoga. How about a conversation with respect to grit, guts and genius? These qualities too are not exclusive to any one gender. Stop apologizing for wearing pants, (Metaphorically speaking).

Women will always be over 50% of the population. There is influence in these double digits. Now that‘s a number I choose not to ignore.
